Fasting on Thursdays for Jupiter-The fasting should be started from the first Thursday of Shukla Paksha of Jyestha. The fasts should be observed for 3 years or on 16 consecutive Thursdays. On that day after taking bath etc.. the person concerned should dress himself /herself in yellow clothes and then recite the Bija or Tantrik mantra 3 x 108 or 11x 108 times. Yellow flowers should be offered to Jupiter. On that day only Besan Laddoos made with brown sugar(s) or jaggery, or sweet rice preparations coloured with turmeric or saffron may be offered to the poor and then eate the lastThursday, Havan with Poorna-Ahutt should be performed and food (yellow coloured) should be offered to poor Brahmins. By observing this fast, the person becomes wise, good in education and gains wealth. If unmarried girls keep this fast, their marriage is expedited.
